Sermon Notes

God is not the author of confusion

  • Order in the house reflects the character of the God we serve.
  • Confusion in a church is a spiritual problem before it is an administrative one.

Order makes room for the Spirit

  • Structure is not the enemy of freedom; it protects it.
  • Plan the work, then trust God with the results.

Transcript

Let all things be done decently and in order.

Corinth had gifts in abundance and order in short supply. Everybody was talking at once.

Paul does not tell them to stop. He tells them to take turns.

When we submit a proposal, keep a calendar, and give an account of the offering, we are preaching this text without saying a word.
