Understanding costs something
- “With all thy getting” assumes effort and expense.
- Study, sit under teaching, and ask questions.
Transcript
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Solomon is writing to a son. He is saying, you are going to spend your life acquiring. Acquire this first.
Knowledge tells you what happened. Understanding tells you what to do about it.
That is why we open the Word on Wednesday nights. Not to fill notebooks, but to get understanding.
