God prepares a table in the presence of our enemies. Provision does not wait for the pressure to pass.

Sermon Notes

A table, not a snack

  • David says prepared — God planned it before you needed it.
  • A table means seated, settled, and unhurried.

In the presence of my enemies

  • God does not always remove the opposition; sometimes He feeds you in front of it.
  • Your peace in the pressure is the testimony.

My cup runneth over

  • Overflow is for the people around you.
  • Blessed to be a blessing — that is the pantry, the toy drive, the outreach.

Transcript

David writes, Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Notice the timing. The table is not set after the enemies leave. It is set while they are still watching.

God will let folks watch Him bless you. He will let them see you eat in peace in the very season they expected you to starve.

And He does not stop at enough. He anoints your head with oil and lets the cup run over, because the overflow was never just for you.

So whatever is standing against you this week, pull up a chair. The Shepherd has already set the table.
